Celina Torres
Celina is a dedicated dancer, teacher and choreographer based in Auckland, New Zealand. She trained in both Ballet and Jazz since the age of 5 and now in Contemporary and Hip-Hop. Celina furthered her studies at UNITEC, graduating with a BPSA, majoring in Contemporary Dance.
Her recent performances and choreographies include working with NZ artist Harper Finn on music videos choreographed by Joshua Cesan, performing in Moscow with light suit company ‘'Vospertron’, Okareka Dance Company’s contemporary work choreographed by Sarah Foster-Sproull, Taiaroa Royal and Taane Mete and choreographing her own piece for Identity Dance Company’s live show ‘Perspective Connection’ called ‘Her Sun’. She has also trained dance crews ‘Khaos’ and ‘Tribe’ of Neverland Studios, who both competed at the World Hip Hop Championships in Arizona.
Celina is invested in Identity Dance Company, competing with the world renowned team ‘IDCO’, at competitions such as ‘World Hip Hop Dance Championships’ (USA), ‘Dancers Paradise’ (Mexico) and recently ‘Upgrade’ (Australia) placing 1st. She participated in the ‘I Am Unbreakable’ NZ tour, and is now teaching and training the development crew I2D, who placed 3rd at ‘Project’ 2020.
