Raised in West Auckland after moving from the Netherlands at a young age, Desney Fritz has been a part of the New Zealand dance scene since the age of 4. Desney is trained mainly in Hip Hop-Street Dance while exploring other styles such as Heels, Freestyle and Contemporary movement. She is hard working, passionate, dedicated and has the dream of making dance her full-time career.  

Desney has experienced many great opportunities so far as a dancer. She has performed at Coca Cola Christmas in the park with Freshmans Dance Crew from 2019-2023 and future shows. Desney has built confidence in her own choreography by directing her own dance video in 2023 as well as teaching classes at schools and dance studios around Auckland. Desney was fortunate enough to compete at HHI Worlds 2019 in Phoenix Arizona with Freshmans Dance Crew where she also performed half time for the Women’s NBA team “Phoenix Mercury”. She also went to World of Dance in 2023 with Freshmans Dance Crew. 

Desney has been a dancer in theatre shows directed by Hadleigh Pouesi such as “Maui”, “Melting Pot” and “Station” that have been held at theatres such as Q theatre , ASB Waterfront Theatre and the Kiri Te Kanawa Theatre.  

Desney has been on TV shows such as “Ahikaaroa” and “Testify” as a background dancer/character and a dancer in a music video called “Next To You” by Vince Harder.  

Desney is currently training with Freshmans Dance Crew. Within the crew she assists with choreography for video projects, gigs such as Funfest, Pasifika Festival, Breakers half time performances, Warriors half time performances, Kids art festivals and more.  

Desney is passionate about using dance as a tool to uplift people and introduce confidence with no age limit. She loves to share the joy of dance and how it can be a positive impact on anyone and everyone.
