Jackson Tuarae
Jackson is an experienced professional with 10+ years working in the commercial danceindustry. Starting from the age of 7, he has undertaken an extensive range of training predominantly in Hip-Hop styles, but also in other Commercial genres like Tap, Contemporary & Jazz Funk.
Jackson’s true passion for performing stemmed from his upbringing in New Zealand’s competitive Hip Hop Street Dance Scene. After winning a silver medal as part of the IDCO mega crew in 2014, Jackson became part of The Bradas adult crew who went on to win 2 Gold Medals at the World Hip-Hop International Finals in 2015 & 2016.
With 7+ years of experience in the scene, performing internationally, Jackson is a well-rounded backup dancer who thrives on stage performing in front of packed-out crowds.
Some of his most recent work in 2023 includes backup dancing with the world-renowned K-pop group: ‘BLACKPINK’ for their headlining act at Coachella (Week 1 & 2). He then continued with BLACKPINK travelling around Europe, France, the USA, and Korea for the ‘Born Pink Encore’ Tour. He has also performed on stage and in music videos, many times with Taiwanese Singer Jolin Tsai, an icon throughout Taiwan and China. Jackson has also worked with several local artists, including SWIDT, Church & AP, PMC, and Kings Music.
Jackson is also hired regularly as a dancer nationally for corporate events and gigs. This includes performing for the Skycity Breakers Basketball & Mystics Netball halftime shows, the New Zealand Fashion Week, Coca-Cola Christmas In The Park, and many more. He also played the role of both a dancer & choreographer within shows ‘CUDO’ & ‘Out Of The Box’ which toured nationwide. He has featured as a dancer on the National TV Show ‘The X Factor NZ & televised dance competitions ‘New Zealand Got Talent’ & ‘The Stage: Haka Fusion’.
